Before beginning with competence mapping and development, it is essential to establish a foundation for competence areas. We suggest incorporating the critical competencies specific to your business, so that both managers and employees can prioritize and enhance the skills necessary for success.

To add competence, first add a category, and then a skill/competence that belong to that category:
- Click "add new category"
- Click on the category you want to add competence to, and click "add new competence" at the bottom right.
Tips! Our recommendation is that the focus is on registering competence that is critical in relation to being able to take care of the position / role in a good and effective way.
Delete a Competency or Category
- Select a category to open the list of competencies.
- Click the trash can icon to the right of the name to delete.
- Note! If you delete a category, all associated competencies will also be deleted.

Employees have registered competencies in the category/competency area I want to delete – what should I do?
Yes. You can safely delete a category or competency even if it is currently in use by employees. What will happen is that you can still view the employee's registered competencies linked to the category, but no new competencies can be added to it. The category/competency area will become “inactive. You can view inactive categories by checking “show inactive” at the top of the list.
Can I restore a deleted category that employees have previously registered competencies in?
Yes, that is possible. Follow these steps:

Check “show inactive” at the top of the list.

If it is a competency area under a category, you must open the category to view the list of associated competency areas.

Inactive categories/competency areas appear in light gray and have a restore icon to the right of the name.

Click the restore icon to the right of the name.
